DESIGN HOTELS WE LOVE: Hôtel Droog, Amsterdam

For all of you that love all things Droog and have an affinity towards design, art and pop culture, you now have another reason to fly to Amsterdam and stay in The one and only room at Hôtel Droog. Drawn in by the mid-century modernist Scandinavian undertow, the hotel part of Hôtel Droog consists of only one suite, located on the top floor of the 17th century building, so it is, unsurprisingly, much more than the straightforward name implies. |

Created by Droog’s cofounder and director, Renny Ramakers, as a concept to give customers comfortable respite after browsing the store, the immersive locale includes a restaurant, a few boutiques, a garden, and a gallery. |

In an all-white casings, the Droog store offers the staples by the Droog designers, then there is the fashion store, KABINET, created by Amsterdam-based Ferry van der Nat, Cosmania, the cosmetics boutique, a spectacular product display area for Weltevree, and the fantastic Fairy Tale Garden created by Claude Pasquer and Corrine Detroyat. It’s like a mini empire of design shops and spaces, so even if you don’t get the coveted Droog room, you’re in for a real treat. |
